Spring News for Cardabilities Sketch Challenge 26

Good morning and I pray that you had a very blessed weekend. Today is another Cardabilities Sketch Challenge and as usual, it's a very fun sketch. I only have a few more sketches while being on this design team as my two terms served are coming to a close. I've loved being on this design team and will definitely continue to play in their challenges.

I used two brand new Papertrey Ink stamp sets from their February release and absolutely had to CASE Nichole Heady's card using Friendship Jar Spring Fillers for this challenge. I'm sure they'll have a Friendship Jar Summer Fillers to release in a month or so, which I'll be looking forward to, and that will complete the series of Friendship Jar seasons. I tweaked her card for the sketch challenge.

I think this sketch and card will definitely get you to think spring! I know it did me as I'm very ready for it! It's been a tough winter, even by Kentucky standards. I hope that you enjoy this and thank you so much for stopping by today. Don't forget to visit the blogs of the Cardabilities Design Team to see their interpretation of this sketch. May the Lord richly bless your day and Today's Treasure is 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. A picture of today's sketch will be under my card for you.

Technique: Die-cutting
Size: 5-1/2 x 4-1/4

1.  Cut white card stock to A2 size so that the crease is at the top.
2.  Cut Kraft card stock 1/8" less than A2 size.
Note:  You will be using your Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up your stamps on the Kraft card stock and image inside the jar for future reference.
3.  Stamp newsprint background onto the Kraft card stock with brown ink and adhere to the white card stock with sticky tape.
4.  Cut a piece of designer paper to 5-3/8 x 1-1/4.
5.  Cut another piece of designer paper to 5-3/8 x 1-1/2 and use a scallop punch on the edge. Cut the excess width so that the bottom of the scallops almost touch the bottom of the larger piece of designer paper. Adhere to the larger piece of designer paper and use sticky tape to adhere the brown ribbon to cover the seam where the two designer papers meet, then adhere to the card about 2/3 down from the top.
6.  Die-cut a jar and lid, then stamp the jar and lid image inside of the jar and lid using black ink.
7.  Color the lid with gray markers.
8.  Stamp the flower image inside of the jar and color with markers.
9.  Adhere the lid to the jar with sticky tape and wrap rustic twine around where the jar and lid meet several times and tie into a bow.
10. Place foam dots on the back of the jar image and adhere to the left side of the card at an angle as shown.
11. Pick 3 buttons of different colors, sizes, and shapes, and adhere directly above the designer paper panel using sticky tape.
