Missing My Son

Since we're approaching the holidays, I think that's the hardest time of year for me not being able to see Mike. It's really hard all year long to tell you the truth, but there's something about the holidays and winter in New York, as well as summer, and lots of other times throughout the year that I think about him. Okay, let's be honest. I'm a mom and think about him all the time. Even though he's 24, I still feel like I'm missing out on him growing into an adult young man and I am missing out on that. We left New York when he was only 20. I don't want to miss anymore and I'm really hoping and praying, and you start praying too, that by this time next year, I'll be back in New York and that our house here in Kentucky will sell fast. Even in this economy and market, God's bigger than all of that, and that's where my faith and hope are.

Here's a card that I made for him and Alaina. When Angie presented this week's theme of "missing you," for the Christian Paper Crafts Bible Verse Thursday 75 Challenge, I had to make them a card. I stamped the inside of the card with another Bible verse and a sentiment of "Missing You." My image inside is a pumpkin. It turned out to be a really cute card. Thanks again for stopping by today and I hope that you are inspired by this to make somebody you love a card to let them know that you miss them.

  1. Oh, Cindy – I feel your pain!  It was so wonderful seeing our son last weekend.  I had not seen him since Christmas, and it was tearing me up.  He is now in California, and we live in Mo., so it's not often we can commute on either end.  I will keep you close at heart and in my prayers.  I hope that soon, you can be where you have your son nearby, and that your blessings are plentiful!  Take care, my friend, and thanks for sharing such a gorgeous card!  I know that your son will be touched when he opens it.  Hugs!
