Farm Fresh Birds

I made this card real quick today just to make a card. I've been spending a lot of time sprucing up my house lately and am enjoying that. I've really let it go since the crafting obsession. I'm getting published every single month this year but June and July, which really let the wind out of my sails. With Paper Crafts Magazine Card Creations #8, they chose 96 cards and out of all of those, only 14 new designers were chosen, me being one of them. This time around in the July/August issue of the magazine, only 8 new designers were chosen. The rest are those who get published in every single paper crafting magazine every single month. Now don't get me wrong and I am not a sore sport because I have been blessed to be able to be published as much as I have, but honestly, we all know the styles of these extremely blessed and talented ladies and l love their work. I think that the market needs to open up to new designers because there's so much that we're missing out on. I submitted at least 75 cards last month to two different magazines and not one of them were chosen.  I honestly am okay with that but I won't be submitting for a while. The effort and time that went into it was insane and my family and home got neglected as a result. If I make a card and it happens to be  a magazine call, then I'll submit it, but I won't be going out of my way to submit, let's put it that way.

Denise Marzec's (Peanutbee) Farm Fresh Chickens really inspired me to make this card. I love her layout and colors. I used a different stamp set, button, twine, there's subtle changes but you can clearly tell where my inspiration comes from when I did this card.

Thank you for looking and God bless your evening. I'll be back later with another card to share.

  1. Cindy that is an adorable card!!  Love the little chicks!!  I agree with you assessment of the papercraft industry, I see some fabulous projects out there on blogs and then when I read the mag it's normally the same people.  I can pick their card out because of the style  right away.  It's kind of funny since I'm so new to this!!  But I do enjoy the creativity and so I don't feel compelled, not that I'm good enough anyway, to submit anything.  Btw, your kitchen looks fab!  The color is very chic et tres manifique!  Je suis parle un peu francais! Au revoir!
