Clean and Simple Miss You Card

Hello there! Today I have another clean and simple, less than 10-minute card for you. Right off, I am not happy with how the black nest turned out. I used May Arts Black Twine and it's all wrong of being too thick, too many straggling frays from the twine itself, just wrong. I fully plan on doing a little card surgery and replacing the black twine.

Of course, I later found the perfect black thin embroidery thread that would have worked. Even silver thread would have worked. I've had this stamped card panel sitting around forever by Papertrey Ink from their Stormy Sea + White Basics patterned paper. I stamped the inside of the circles with Polka Dot Basics III in PTI various rainbow colors. The colors I used from top to bottom are Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Canyon Clay, Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Blueberry Sky and Winter Wisteria. My sentiment and coordinating die-cut is from Fancy Pants Sentiments with the frame stamped in Americana and sentiment stamped using my MISTI in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The rainbow frame was cut from My Favorite Things Blueprints 15 and adhered to a top-folding A2 size white card. You know I love my stitch detail!

The Fancy Pants stamp set and coordinating dies are fun, but you really have to do some initial work on matching up the coordinating die-cut with the frame and correct sentiment. Since the dies are not open-faced, I strongly suggest getting a Sharpie and making an arrow on the back of the die-cut so you know which side is up, as well as writing on the back of the die what sentiment coordinates with the die. I have these in one of my standard stamp storage pockets with the die-cuts on a magnet, their matching photopolymer frame inside of the die-cut with the sentiment sitting on top of that. On the inside of the photopolymer stamp, the part that doesn't actually stamp the image, I also drew an up arrow with a Sharpie marker just to make things easier on myself. Using your MISTI with this stamp set is a total game changer and will really help you out. The Americana color came out after I had stamped my background panel, so it all worked out in the end – except for that thread nest. I knew I was going to change it out, but haven't had the time to do so yet, but thought that I would get this off my desk anyway. Fortunately, the foam adhesive is not permanently adhered to that lovely stamped background I made and will not tear when I pull it off to fix it.

One of these days I'll pull out my camera again rather than using my iPhone. For one of my cards yesterday, I took the picture outside due to lighting. I set the card on top of my black BBQ cover with my house as the backdrop.

I hope that you're all doing well and would like to thank you for stopping by today to visit me. Until the next time, God bless and have a great day.
