MFT Camp Create, Day 1, Glitter Card + CAS Tuesday

CASTuesRotatingBannerPrintHello there! MFT Stamps started their Camp Create yesterday and believe me, I earned this badge! The challenge was to use glitter. Of course, I picked what I think is an extremely difficult die-cut to use because it comes apart in pieces and I had to glitter each one up and then put it back together. I love how my card turned out. It's rainbow, which I love everything rainbow and it's just about as colorful as my language was when I was making it.

Today's challenge is to make a slider card and I'm using the one that I did the video on the other day. It works. I love Stephanie's card that she made for the challenge. It's too cute. Reminds me of the good old days when I had a pool. I sure do miss having a pool. I tried spray tanning a few times, but it's not the same thing. The pool was my happy place. With spray tans, a gal came to my house and I would stand out back in a kini and freeze while that stuff was being sprayed on. Then it's all sticky and icky and gooey and you have to put a big baggy dress on for 3-4 hours while it "set" and then you rinsed off in the shower. You can't sit down either unless you want to stain your furniture. It also does not come out in the wash, despite the extra bleach and sanitize cycle. It was just messy. So now I'm going to try a trial size bottle sent to me by Tan Physique. I'll let you know what I think about it once I actually put it on.

Back to my card. I had die-cut out the End of Rainbow Die-Namics that coordinates with the Rainbow Greetings Stamp set onto Sizzix double-sided sticky paper. Glitter and sticky paper play well together. Glitter and sticky paper with how large my rainbow is does not play well together. I made a template to put over the base of my card so I would know how to adhere the pieces back in and despite the burnishing I did to keep the glitter where it belonged, every time I touched it, some would come off. I was wishing I had Glitter Ritz because all you have to do with that is burnish it into the sticky paper. I did have Cool Highlight Glitter Ritz for my cloud and it worked out great. I used a Martha Stewart package of glitter that I had. I think next I'm going to spray the card with a sealant to keep the glitter where it belongs. Despite it all, my white card base is extremely clean.

The colors that I used for my rainbow, from red to purple are: Carnelian, Fire Opal, Yellow Barite, Verdelite, Turquoise and Charoite.

I hope that you enjoy my card today. Usually I would say to give it a try yourself, but instead, I'm going to tell you to do this at your own risk 🙂

Thank you for stopping by to visit me and God bless!
