You Are Just My Type

Hello there everybody. I made this card for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday for last week but am just now getting around to posting it today. Their tutorial was how to make and use score lines to accent your cards. It's really the perfect clean and simple cardmaker's almost go-to technique to add depth and dimension to your card. This technique has been around for as long as I can remember.

I decided to break out a Valentine's Day stamp set by Papertrey Ink of Be Mine, Valentine. There are a lot of great images and sentiments in this stamp set and it's not just for Valentine's Day either, therefore making it extremely versatile for year-round use. This is definitely one of those stretch your stamp set values.

I did a little stamp surgery on my typewriter to tie in the fabulous new Green Parakeet color ink with my card base. As always, I used my MFT Blueprints 13 on the image panel for the stitched detail. I placed white fun foam behind the image panel and added extra dimension by adhering the typewriter with foam tape. I scored 5 lines and positioned them right where the middle of my image would be and stamped little blue hearts randomly over my score lines with Spring Rain ink to bring attention to the score lines. I prefer my scoring to be popped out rather than recessed. I wanted a bright, happy and fun card so I used colors to reflect that of Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Green Parakeet and Spring Rain. The colors used definitely held their own alone. The picture really does not do the Green Parakeet color justice. It's a very vivid green that is uniquely awesome. I scattered a few clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to balance out my card a bit. The sentiment is stamped with True Black ink. All of the ink, card stock, images and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink.
