You’re in My Prayers

Hello there everybody. I hope you're having a fun Saturday. Today my Moose is here studying and doing his laundry. He's been a big help to me too! This is my favorite day of the week that I get to spend with my favorite person! He made it through his first week of university and LOVES it here. I am so happy for him. He's a great young man and I'm one proud mom. I have this gigantic pantry and pantry and a section of it is dedicated to the media center in my home. He moved my printer in there, hooked up my picture printer and is also going to do my Airport and Brother ScanNCut 2. Steve and his son stopped by to put a new lock on my bedroom door that leads to the back yard. I would say today has been very productive!

I made this sympathy card for a friend. I don't like to make these kinds of cards at all. This was my 3rd try making the card. If you look at the Papertrey Ink Harvest Berries stamp set, it's image heavy and all of my leaves turned out gold without much space left for my Tim Holtz Distress Markers that I used as a water color medium. I wanted more water color, so I die-cut a piece of Tim Holtz/Ranger water color card stock using My Favorite Things Blueprints 13. I used the smooth side of the water color paper. I also used my MISTI to place my stamps. I broke out my VersaMarker Watermark Pen and selectively colored in only a few of the lines on my main image and then heat embossed in gold. The same was done with my sentiment from Beautiful Blessings. I colored in the entire image using Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters and Stormy Sky Distress Markers by Tim Holtz. I sprayed water on the image about 6-8 inches away with my Ranger Mister, closed the lid of  my MISTI and watched the magic happen. I found something heavy to set on top of my MISTI to give the color a change to really soak into the water color paper. When I removed the hat box filled with heavy blocks, WOW. I even impressed myself and my son. It was amazingly beautiful. BUT, it needed a little something more and that's when I broke out my small Tim Holtz water brush, filled in a few areas and then colored outside the lines with the ink that was already on the image for a more artistic look while wanting to keep the borders of the leaves intact. I love how this turned out.

I adhered a piece of white fun foam to the back of the image panel, a first for me, as the paper was a little warped from the heat embossing and water coloring and then adhered the entire panel to a Papertrey Ink Stamper's Select White card stock side-folding A2 card.

On the inside, I stamped a smaller image from Harvest Berries using Stampin' Up! Old Olive ink at the bottom left and my sentiment is stamped with Marina Mist from Beautiful Blessings at the top right. I then stamped the small berries from Harvest Berries around my inside image with Encore Gold to tie in the gold from the front of the card.

I really hope that you enjoyed today's card. It didn't take very long to make at all and the 3rd try was a charm. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today and God bless!
