If how far back I had to search on my blog image library is any indication of the last time I did a Cindy B Designs Clean & Simple Tuesday, it's been 14 months. Wow. Where does time go? But the good news is, is that I'm doing one for you today and even posting it a day early too!
I used the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 256 to get me off the ground. I already have Christmas card burnout because like every other crafter out there, I was making them in September and the other holidays in between were just an annoyance. So, I thought that I would make a happy rainbow card.
I started out with an After Midnight card stock base and die-cut a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock with the Blueprints 13 stitched frame. For my background, I stamped the largest image line image from Jumbo Abstract Art with Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink 4 times, rotating the stamp every time. I used the Cloud Cover-Up Plate Die-Namics to cut out the 2 largest clouds out of from the Farm Fresh Gingham 6×6 Paper Pad in rainbow order Razzle Berry, Orange Fizz, Daffodil, Green Room and the new Cornflower. I then sponged the edge of each cloud with their coordinating Premium Dye Ink color. The 3 largest clouds are adhered directly to the Sweet Tooth card stock. The 2 smaller clouds were adhered with foam squares. I prepped the bottom 1/3 of my card stock with an EK Success Embossing Tool. I stamped my sentiment from Blue Skies Ahead with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink, covered it with clear embossing powder, then heat set it. I'm glad that I decided to do this because my ink pad needs to be refilled and with my colors, I needed a strong black grounding sentiment for balance. I applied a strong adhesive to the back of the Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered it to the After Midnight card base.
As a finishing touch, I scattered droplets of Glossy Accents to accent my card project.
