This Week’s Cards

Hello there my friends and a very happy Friday to you! I've been working off and on a couple of cards this week and decided that I best get them blogged. It's been a long week and I'm glad it's over with. I've been in my new house for almost a month now and sometimes I feel like I will never get unpacked. I'm still tripping over stuff on my craft room floor and that just drives me crazy. I also had radio-frequency ablation on my back a few days ago and still feel all 30 needles. Then I was bummed out because I couldn't sleep and remembered that I'm jacked up on steroids too! It's not making me unpack and organize any faster, I'm just tired.

Today's cards are for a couple of sketch challenges for my design team work at the Paper Craft Crew 156 and My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 239, which I didn't finish in time to link to. Better late than never, right?

For my Thanks a Bunch card, I used some very fun and new Stampin' Up! products. The Market Fresh stamp set and designer series paper are favorites of mine. I water-colored this card, which is something that I haven't done for a while. I haven't even created much of anything for a while with this move and I'm not quite seeing the light at the end of the tunnel yet.

For my little adorable penguin card, I used My Favorite Things Penguins in Paradise stamps and Die-Namics along with some stitched Die-Namics too for my frames on both cards. I did some Copic coloring and sponging.

My heart is also very heavy as a crafting friend of mine, Lea Lawson, has and is going through one of the most traumatic experiences a mother can ever go through. Her story is so raw that even thinking about it makes me cry. Please keep her and the family in your prayers. I've come to realize that there are two different types of death with your children. One is physical and the other is emotional. Both are hell and I don't know which is worse. For me personally, it's the emotional death.

It's time for me to start unpacking and organizing again. I would like to thank you for stopping by to visit me today. There are several essential craft items that I am looking for that are not anywhere since I've gone through everything and I'm positive my movers helped themselves to my camera and Apple TV. The other items are my paper trimmer and stamp company products. I'd like to be able to get this room cleaned up first, move in what's in the guest room and then get the guest room furniture in. There's just stuff everywhere it seems.

One of my other friends is going to take down a wall and I will lose an upper cabinet in the kitchen, which I really don't need anyway, but I will get the light from the dining room, which is badly needed in the kitchen. I would have to say that is my only complaint about this house is the kitchen as it's on the dark side. The great room is painted, my art studio and the guest bath. I will have to share before and after pics with you in my Home Decor series that I had planned for this year, which is flying by. I'm starting to see Christmas stuff in stores. It's been so crazy insane busy. I have a lot of plans for this place. Another friend hung up a darling perfect-sized baby chandelier that I had been carting around from IKEA for a few years in the foyer and it looks fabulous. I have the most awesome peek hole ever. There's a lock to it that you have to open up and it's like this square with bars over it and has this total medieval vibe. I love having a foyer. I don't just like to walk into a house. There's a wall insert that I almost feel obligated to put a Mother of Mary (or whatever it's called) statute inside it.

Please enjoy my cards and I I hope that they provide you with some inspiration. My mojo is on a very long extended vacation. Have a wonderful weekend and God bless you.
