May 2015 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hello my friends. Today I decided to participate in the Papertrey Ink May 2015 Blog Hop. I haven't participated in a Papertrey Ink Blog Hop in what seems like years. I was happy to get the May release before the Blog Hop. That is not the norm as most want to use their new release products. Today I was able to do just that.

I've always loved the super fabulous, unique and fun Bowl of Sunshine stamp set and unfortunately with my card, I did not combine the two, but I will very soon. The follow-up to the Bowl of Sunshine stamp set is A Second Helping of Sunshine and wow. I love this. You will see a combination of both stamp sets being using in conjunction sooner rather than later. I love the clean and graphic lines, and I could go on and on about these two stamp sets. Bottom line – I just LOVE them. That's it. They are so much fun and can cover such a wide variety of events and occasions. No coloring involved. Just simple and easy stamping.

I really didn't have a plan in mind or a sketch, but each month has a theme to the Blog Hop and this month, our inspiration was a rainbow of wooden blocks that you can see at the Papertrey Ink Blog. I almost went with Southwestern Style but could not pass up the opportunity to use some beautiful Fire King-inspired stamps. I was in vintage heaven!

I took about a hundred pictures it seems. I have a very difficult time taking pictures of cards that are standard A2 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 portrait. I'm okay with the landscape, which is why most of my cards are made that way. I'm sure I could have gone landscape here and probably should have – maybe card #2? – but just went with what happened.

Of course, I used my beloved Blueprints and Die-Namics by My Favorite Things to give it that extra special touch. The Soft Stone gingham patterned paper on the side with the Pretty Pink Post sequins in Charcoal and Clear really filled up some empty space. I did not want to use ribbon or even Baker's Twine. I wanted my lovely Fire Brick dishes to show with the tiny little pearl in the center of each dish. The rainbow dishes still take the spotlight and there's nothing better than a rainbow of colors! Don't you just love the inside of the card?! The envelope is decorated the same way with the Soft Stone gingham pattern for the liner.

Thank you so very much for stopping by to visit me today and God bless you. I will see you soon with another card project and video!

  1. This is so sweet…my bowls arrived on Saturday and I can not wait to play with them too.
