You’re the Star of My Show!

Hello there friends and a very Happy Monday to you!

Today's card is for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 219 (MFTWSC219) and for the My Favorite Things Color Challenge 17 (MFTCC17). I really wanted to do the card that Barb Anders did. She's such an amazing designer. I just might for fun. The stamp set she chose was perfect (Circle Scribble Flowers) and her flowers were so unconventional with their colors. You must check it out and here is a link to her card. You will have to scroll down a few cards but you can't miss it. Barb also does amazing videos and I subscribe to her You Tube Channel and I highly recommend that you do too. You will definitely enjoy it.

For today's card, I combined the above two challenges and the graphics are below.

SC219 Color 17

I used the new Stay Tuned stamp set and the coordinating Television Die-Namics. I had to toss another neutral in there so I chose Natural. There were a lot of steps to make this card and I had to do something with the Primitive White panel, which was die-cut with Blueprints 22, so I decided to use some Natural Premium Dye Ink and smoosh a bit on my craft sheet. I then used my Palette Knife to grab a bit of Ranger Texture Paste and pulled the ink into my texture paste for more control over my color. I wanted a match to the Primitive White card stock and I achieved what I was after. I laid down the Diagonal Stripes Stencil and got to work. Always rinse off your tools after using embossing paste as it has a tendency to dry fast and you don't want to ruin your tools. Many crafters have a large tub next to them filled with warm soapy water and just put the tools in there until they can wash them off in the kitchen sink. I would spill it so I just run to the kitchen sink.

I had a great and short video as to how I mixed up my texture paste but it got lost in yet another awful video program I'm trying out. However, I'm very pleased with the results of this card in it's entirety.

In keeping with the sketch, I die-cut a panel using Steel Blue card stock with Vertical Stitched Stripes Die-Namics and painstakingly stamped two of the diamond images from Stay Tuned. I lined them up on my Fiskars Compact Stamp Press and used the grid on that to line up the images on the Steel Blue card stock panel using Steel Blue Premium Dye Ink for a tone-on-tone look.

I then die-cut the Television Die-Namics in all of the colors of our color palette since I wasn't sure how I wanted to put together the various components of the TV. I knew I needed to bring in a bit more Natural and stamped the inside of the TV with Natural Premium Dye Ink, added some "stars" with Coral Crush Premium Dye Ink, stamped my sentiment with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I used Coral Crush and Tropical Teal card stock for the rest of my TV adding some Stampin' Up! Basic Jewels: Rhinestones, to bling it up a little bit and emphasize the "star" aspect of the card.

I added my sentiment strip cut from Blueprints 2 using Natural card stock and used the same steps for the sentiment as above. I trimmed the right edge of the sentiment and stapled it to the card using my Mini Stapler.

The entire Primitive White panel was adhered to the Steel Blue card base with foam tape and the television was also adhered with foam tape.

For the inside, I stamped "Happy Birthday" with Tropical Teal Premium Dye Ink and scattered around a few stars and diamonds with Coral Crush and Steel Blue Premium Dye Inks and added a few rhinestones in the center of the Coral Crush stars keeping it consistent with the outside of the card.

I hope that you enjoyed my card today and are inspired by it. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me and God bless you!
