SNOW! CardMaker Magazine Bundle Up Challenge. No Ugly Sweater Card

Happy Monday friends! Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. One of my blog stops this morning was Nichole Heady of Capture of Moment. She presented a lovely visual show all about snow. You must watch this fun video! It was instant happiness for me first thing in the morning. I just love these old Christmas movies.

Wasn't that so fun! I loved it! Such simpler times. I wish I was an adult in that era. Nichole also posted this beautiful picture of Central Park in New York City. It's amazing!

Snow in Central Park is so pretty. Nichole finds the most amazing pictures on the internet that I'm sure are time consuming for the rest of us to enjoy. The above is definitely one of my favorites.

I love snow on Christmas and then it can go away after the first of the New Year. I have Lake Tahoe and 8 miles up the road in Paradise, their weather is completely different than the weather in Chico and it snows up there. I have options.

I also have a fun card that I will attach to this post later today of what you wear in the snow. I had not planned on blogging today but I think I just got into the Christmas spirit! I did plant my indoor winter bulbs yesterday of Paper Whites and a beautiful red Amaryllis. I can't wait to see them bloom! I love the smell of Paper Whites. They do take a little time to bloom so be sure to plant yours today!

Don't forget to stop back by in a few hours and you definitely don't want to miss this blog post with guest artist Jennifer McGuire showing how she uses her Erin Condren Life Planner. I have a fun giveaway for you too!

This week's agenda is to get some design team work done, fill up my Boutique with kits and cards, hair, mani/pedi and to get this awesome video done for you, as well as finalize up my online card class website for the next two classes. I also have to spend a day or two in the Bay Area, which, of course, I never mind, but it is going to take away a few days of work and time. I have a couple of doctor's appointments that I need to go to. I'm also hoping that my family will come down for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm planning on going all out on this so they walk into a welcoming and warm winter wonderland! I will see you back this evening. My bank card got hijacked again so that is being dealt with. I really hate it when that happens. I also need to call the plumber. My monster garbage disposal just broke out of the blue. I was cleaning the frig this weekend and put some salad in there, not much at all really, and when I turned it on, it sounded like it just didn't want to start and now it's completely dead. I had to dig the salad out all mushy and it was gross.

Then I went to do laundry and sometimes with wet towels, I will toss them in the washer rather than in with the dirty laundry. I opened up the door to do laundry and there was a new life form growing inside. Ew. It's on a 2-hour sanitize cycle now. BUT…I made an adorable card for you today! No ugly sweaters here! This card fits the CardMaker Magazine Bundle Up Challenge this week.

Image 4 Image 3 I stamped Fresh Snow ink with the WPlus Fairisle Background stamp set onto Pure Poppy card stock after I die-cut it out using Shape Up Series: Sweater. I do wish I had dry embossed the card stock with a sweater impression plate. I moved the die-cut over slightly on the left so that the card opens on the left. I cut a sweater accent from Holly Jolly dies using Simply Chartreuse felt and made it as my brooch of sorts on my card. A bright red rhinestone was placed in the middle of the holly leaves. This was such an easy card to make with a ton of possibilities to use different stamps, designs, patterned paper and more!

Make today count, keep warm and God bless you!

  1. When you use your disposal after it's fixed get it running with water going in it, then put food in after its already running. Sometimes that helps. Also, I run a bunch of ice through mine every week. Have a great holiday season!
