Clean & Simple Tuesday, Double Die-Cutting Technique Video

CASTuesdaysGraphicHi friends. Happy New Year. I thought I would take some time off and do absolutely nothing. I honestly don't know where the time goes. This card has a double die-cutting technique and my sketch is from my design team work at the Clean and Simple Stamping Blog (FTL274). I absolutely mixed up my products, colors and real names, so a complete supply list is below. The biggest bummer, I totally forgot to dry emboss the top layer of my card with my impression plate. What a difference that would have made and completely have changed the look to the one I was going after. By the time I realized this, I would have had to start the card and video from the beginning again.

Don't you just love the look of the layered sequins? I do. I added these after I did the video. Avery Elle has THE BEST sequins out there. I love that there's blended colors in each package and 5mm and 6 mm sizes, making it so easy to layer them to make a terrific embellishment(s)! There's so many things that you can do with these sequins and best of all? They are extremely inexpensive with a large selection of colors and very well packaged.

I used my daddy's "too much for me camera" and found the CD on how to use it and you're dealing with somebody who still can't figure out how to watermark my images. The programs that I have used on this Mac are such a pain. You have to import, export, everything. Whatever happened to just having your image up and one click to add your watermark and save? I don't know why everything has to be so complicated, especially for this dinosaur. I absolutely hate texting. Short and sweet is okay, but for a conversation? No. So much time is wasted when it could have been done in a 2-minute phone call. I think kids these days are sorely lacking in social skills since there's rarely face-to-face interaction. I'm 50 and I'm okay with my generation.

I hope that you enjoy this video and give this technique a try yourself. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. God bless you and make today count. Who can you bless today? I'm going to try to bless everybody that I talk to.

Photobucket Use an impression plate on the top layer for added dimension and depth.

Photobucket Remember to keep the rule of 3/triangle.

Photobucket Try using different shapes and a different color for your panel that you will die-cut and the image you will use on the top of your card, like Natasha did with her sample card. You can and should try using different but the same die-cuts. That would be fun.
