ODBDSLC171, Fall Colors, God Bless You Pumpkin Card

Hi friends. Today I wanted to participate in the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge 171 (ODBDSLC171) and that is to use fall colors. I should reserve this card for my Faith on Friday Series, but with how exhausted I am after recent events, I felt it was best not to do a video for this card; however, I can always make another card with a video.

Since fall is right around the corner and happens to be a season that I love, although I'm a summer girl at heart, I love making autumn-themed cards. I'm breaking out my favorite pumpkin and die with the Pumpkin Wreath stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs to make today's card. I love these stamps and coordinating die. I took my August Release up to my dad's and left it there so I haven't had a chance to ink it up yet and really want to! That is definitely a priority. I plan on spending some time at dad's anyway.

Today I made a 5 x 5 card, which is a size I don't normally do. One of the design team ladies (Darla Rants) made a beautiful card so I'm taking bits and pieces of that and making it my own. I have so many fall colors of burlap and wanted to use them so bad, but fortunately, I found a roll in the drawer that houses all of my cork and other material. I spent an hour in the garage looking for my burlap so I really need to get organized! I also need to update my blog a bit as well.

The Copic markers of E84, E87 and E89 surprisingly were a deep and dark green and caught me off guard a bit as I was expecting brown, since the name of E84 is Fig, so you might want to file that in the back of your head and try out the markers on a piece of scratch paper. I usually do this anyway but skipped it as when I use E84, I use that one color and just blend it a bit by itself or with the Colorless Blender to remove color. As for coloring the pumpkin, not all pumpkins are orange. I'd like to try a white/cream pumpkin with a hint of green to look more natural. At times like this, I really miss my old farmhouse in New York. There was a farm stand down the road and they had the most coolest stuff along with fresh produce and flowers, and especially fall and Christmas items to decorate with!

PS: After I took the picture, I decided to pull some color off of the stem of the pumpkin with the 0 Colorless Blender pen. It looks very cool and how it's supposed to be. Also, my spellchecker plugin that I downloaded and activated is not working either! Argh! But, you sure do have a pretty card to look at!

I am also preparing for my ORGANIZE IT! class from September 30 – October 4 and you don't want to miss this! I got my new graphics that I'm sending to my developer today and putting a rush on it so keep an eye out for when signups are available!
