Good morning friends and a happy Thursday to you! Today I'm showing you my Clean and Simple Tuesday card with a video 2 days late since I'm trying to get back on some sort of schedule of normalcy, if possible.
I've finalized both of my daddy's services and just have to get the obituaries in the newspapers and hopefully that's it. There's some financial matters I'm still trying to take care of down to changing his PG&E bill to my name, but they are not on the "must do immediately list." I'm learning to take time off when I need to and am actually respecting that. In turn, dealing with dad's sudden passing is not so overwhelming. I don't mind going to his house and spending time there as it helps me to feel closer to him. It's the arriving and leaving part that I have a hard time with. I'm slowly but surely taking more crafty items up there since he put in a new studio for me at his house last year, rather than dragging everything back and forth. You know how much crafty stuff we all have and it's usually way too much. I'll start eBaying once again the 2nd week or so of September. I do have to get a large cabinet installed for stamp storage and a moveable island as I prefer to stamp while standing up and definitely have to use this for my videos. I also need to get the garage organized the way that I want to for overflow of seasonal crafty stuff, and just typing all of this is making me bit overwhelmed so it's time to stop.
For my sketch today, I used the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog, Fall to Layout 254, which is also part of my design team work too. I'm also hoping to film a video today for my Faith on Friday Series that should be up tomorrow if my day goes as planned. I'd also like to make some cards and prepost some videos while I'm traveling. Since crafting is so therapeutic for me right now, I might try to submit some cards too for a few magazine calls out there. On the top of the bucket list right now is trying to get some sort of spellcheck on my blog. I don't know how it disappeared. My WYSIWYG widget went kind of wonky so I had to change that and since then, no spellcheck. Bummer and why wouldn't it not have a spellcheck?!
Sooooo, for today's card, I think it's super fun and easy to make. It's a great nautical card and that is so on trend right now. I've been paying a lot more attention to industry trends lately and think that one might be around for another month until fall. I'm seeing a lot of geometric shapes too and I really enjoy stamping with those. So many possibilities. Builder sets with 2 and 3-step stamping is also very hot and WPlus 9 has this one stamp set that I'm really looking forward to giving an extra spin with, so check back for that.
I do have an upcoming online card class with registration starting on September 1. This class is one that everybody should take for organizing their craft space and I have some fabulous ideas for you, as well as prizes! If you have some ideas, please share with them me, do a video, and I'd love to take you on as a guest designer!

Use colors other than the basic red and blue to create a nautical card. Mix and match different manufacturers/brands.
There are a lot of nautical stamp sets and die-cuts on the market, find one with 2 and 3-step stamping and have fun discovering everything that you can
do with it!
Try going shabby chic or vintage using nautical products.
