Hi friends. It's been forever since I've been able to make a card just for fun. I had all of these materials and products just lying around on my desk from some project that I attempted to start almost a year ago (seriously) and decided to put them all together for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. We had several color combinations to choose from representing the Fruits of Summer Color Inspiration and my choice is above. I had to sneak in the Melon Berry by using a small scallop die-cut onto the vine image from the Melon Berry Patterned Paper Pack. The Hibiscus Burst is MIA, but don't tell anybody! Shhh.
My Sending You die-cuts were already done for the card I was "going to finish up one day," and the outline of the die-cut would have been perfect to sneak in the Hibiscus Burst. Since most of the card was already done for me, I just had to pick out a card base and dry emboss it for texture. My leaves have some great print on them, but again, since half of this is almost a year old, I'm struggling about exactly what patterned paper I used. If you look closely, the patterned paper on my leaves matched up perfectly with the Moroccan Motifs Impression Plate that I used on the Classic Kraft card stock background. What a fun little surprise.
All in all, I think this is a very fun card. I did do a lot of ink distressing to my images and gave it dimension using foam tape.
Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today and may God bless your day.

Experiment with different impression plates or even use a few different plates masking off portions of your card.
Ink distressing brings what would be a single color die-cut to life!
Tie in your sentiment with your images, i.e., flowers make me smile.
So very pretty! Love the little extra something that inking the edges adds to the flowers!
