QFTD167, Birthday Roses

Hi friends. Wow. I haven't blogged or got my ink on in ages. Life has been busy and I have definitely fallen off the crafty grid. To give me a jumpstart, I found the perfect challenge of Queen for the Day (QFTD167) at Splitcoast Stampers featuring my friend Stacy Morgan. Maybe after I CASE one of her cards, I can start coming up with some of my own original designs. My mojo has been on an extended vacation.

I decided to CASE Stacy's Hello Birthday Girl card and make my Birthday Roses card. The main sentiment is on the inside of the card, but I also wanted to let my birthday girl know that I miss her too so that's on the outside. I really hope that the Lord touches her heart with the 3 simple words from Today's Bible Treasure of "love one another." This is sort of a pre-birthday card.

I hope I can stay in the lines coloring, but it's not looking good so far.  I'm in the middle of yet another wicked lupus flare and on an insane amount of steroids which leaves me with very shaky hands. Oh the joys of autoimmune diseases. I just beat (hopefully) breast cancer for the second time, and now I will have the honor of getting my hips replaced and my shoulders reconstructed since both rotator cuffs are torn. I'm a genetic disaster.

This is one of those cards that I should really just utilize stamping and paper but I wanted this card to be extra special and put my heart into it for my birthday girl. I hope she appreciates it. The card is very clean and almost primitive because I want the sentiments to be focused on.

As something off the wall a bit, I used Christmas designer series paper on this card. It was right next to me and I didn't feel like paper hunting; you know what I mean 🙂 My sketch is the most generic on the face of the Earth.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today me and God bless you.

I am aiming for next week to get back on schedule and start blogging regularly and preparing for my June Card Class of Just Cards combined with Clean and Simple. I hope that you will join me and I will change the graphics on my blog to reflect the new class; however, I do need to send the work out to my developers for the card class site. It should be up and running by the end of this week, hopefully. The card class is from June 24-28 and is only $9.99 with lifetime access to the videos and and gallery.
