Faith on Friday, Harvest Flower Pot, ODBDSLC127, PSC53D

Hi friends and thank God it's Friday! Remember when flower pot cards were all the rage? I think it was about 3 or so years ago. My craft studio is still a mess and I'm hoping that by the time you read this, that one piece of furniture I'm waiting on is being built out in the garage. For my paper pads, they are in a Rubbermaid out in the garage. I have a lot of stuff in Rubbermaids out in the garage still. I REALLY lost a tremendous amount of space and am so feeling it. I thought that I could compensate somehow but am not pulling it off yet.

I'm also still trying to learn this Mac and really regret getting it. The learning curve is insane and I don't have the time for it. The only thing I like about it is the graphics. I still don't know how to insert a watermark or even crop my pictures because it was so easy on Windows so this is what I do. I get the graphic part done on the Mac and then I email myself the pictures and pray my Windows PC still works. If I get lucky, I open them up, crop and insert my watermark and then email them back to myself. How nuts is that? I also still do my videos on my PC as well and I'm on such borrowed time with that. This is just not fun at all. Unfortunately, it's too late to take this back or else I would in a heartbeat. I did manage to migrate my Windows files to this Mac but where they are I have no clue at all. I am going to have to take some classes on this thing before I end up pulling my hair out! Then, for the icing on the cake, my iPhone is in just as bad of shape as my Windows! I have 5 more weeks until I can upgrade and I don't know if it will last that long. I gave my daughter my upgrade because she broke her phone. I will never do that again. So, on December 1, my son and I are going to Sacramento to the Apple store to get the iPhone 5. Thank you for listening to my electronic woes. It's not cool how we are all in such bondage to technology. You either love it or hate it and you all know where I'm at in that spectrum right now.

So, onto my pretty flower pot! I made this for Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge 127 (ODBDSLC127). It's a recipe challenge using embellishments and products with the initials of LEAF, i.e., L for leaves, E for embossing, A for altered or acetate, and F for flowers, fabric, faux whatever, and you must cover at least three of the acronym. I have leaves, flowers and altered so I'm good to go.

This card is also for the month long one year anniversary of The Perfect Sentiment (PSC53D), to create something with birds and blooms. There are four different theme challenges going on right now, one of which will be perfect for you.

I hope that you enjoy this and thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. God bless you!

  1. HI Cindy! I pray you're enjoying some of the sunshine these lovely flowers are giving! Love the way you've put this together and the dimension that you've given the flowers!
As for Macs, my husband just got me one and yes, there's a learning curve!!!  I have chosen to use Picassa instead of the mac picture program, just because I am familiar with the cropping and other options it has.  I have yet to find out how to add a personal watermark.  I just started using the one Picassa offers (text option) for now. Other than that, I do love the way the mac runs, so much smoother than my PC.  And I to love the graphics!  Hope everything smoothes out for you soon!
    Have a great day!

  2. Cindy,
I am a MAC girl "Born and Breed". The problem is MAC makes it easy to do things and you might be over-thinking it. Let me know if I can help. Did you Mac come with any photo editing software such as iPhoto?
