Rolled Ribbon Flower

Hi Friends. Today's card is a clean and simple card that packs a punch. If you'd like me to do a video as to how I made the rolled ribbon flower, please leave a comment and let me know. I'd be more than happy to show you. It's just a little time consuming but I'm pretty sure I can keep the video under 12 minutes if I make the rolled rose only. You can use any of our ribbons to do this. I just prefer the wide satin ribbon. I think it lends a certain elegance to any card. Imagine making one of these with our fabric!

I used a combination of "old" and new products. I used the new firm foam pad ink and a sentiment from Sweet Essentials. My designer series paper and ribbon are from last year's catalog.

I am kind of bummed that the satin ribbon retired as I used it on a lot of projects, including this one. They're on the eBay table, which I really need to get a move on. Unfortunately, I will be selling everything retired as I can't demonstrate those products to you because you won't be able to purchase them. However, you can always wing it and use your imagination to create a similar card as shown below. In all honesty, although I'm grateful we still have the Newsprint Specialty Designer Series Paper, I question the actual newsprint itself. On my card, I'm reading about urinary tract infections, larvae, needles, diabetes, and sciatica using the sentiment Thinking of You. Okay…..

The handmade items I made for this card is my rolled rose and banner. I just stamped my sentiment, cut to size, swiped some ink around the edges from a sponge that still had ink on it and then snipped a "V" at the end, as well as doing the same with the Newsprint since it was tone-on-tone and I needed distinct edges for visual interest. To anchor the hand rolled ribbon, I placed a square of Early Espresso card stock onto our fabric adhesive and punched it out with a scallop punch. I rolled the ribbon onto the sticky side and to adhere it to my card, I used redline tape. You definitely want the side that you're going to roll your ribbon on as sticky as possible. You might have to slip in a Mini Glue Dot here and there, but that's perfectly normal.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today and God bless you! I hope that you enjoy my card.
