Good morning! Today is Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 6 and our theme is to make a black and white card with a splash of color. I think I have a few splashes, but that's okay. I am so pleased with the way that this card turned out. I used several different elements for embellishments. The sponsor for our challenge today is Bren Yule, an Executive Director with Close to My Heart, that is a direct sales company that sells scrapbooking and cardmaking products.

My friend Faith, aka Markie's Mom, has started her own stamp company called Mark's Finest Papers. I used the stamp set Ladybugs and Carnation on my card. I've started to build up quite the collection of her stamp line. The stamps are very high in quality and great for coloring, not to mention that she's got me hooked on charms now and sells a wonderful line of them, as well as ink and papers, embellishments, and a whole host of other products. Please go and take a look at her store and you'll be happy that you stopped by.

Now I would like to share my card with you. I used a Get Well sentiment on the inside of the card as this is going to my uncle who just had back surgery about 10 days ago. I think the card is masculine while being bright and cheerful at the same time, and I got to color a lot using my Copic markers. I hope that you like this and that it inspires you in some way! Thank you for playing along with our Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 6 today and we'd love to see you back next week. Until that time, may the Lord richly bless you. Today's Treasure: Luke 21:33.

Hi everybody. I had a great birthday thanks to all of you, but I'll tell you that there's nothing like waking up to bag that says "Zales" on your desk. I thought that I had it all, but apparently didn't have a pair of everyday diamond earring hoops to wear and now I do. Very nice. My kids baked me a chocolate cake and used one of those giant sized containers of vanilla icing on it, but not too much of it made it onto the cake. Then they found some icing pencils and drew a flower for me and wrote on the cake, and the little darlings purchased number candles that read 37. I turned 47. Good kids! I'm blessed and grateful for them. I'm blessed and grateful for you too.

I found this new challenge blog called Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog that had a cool layout and decided to try it. The challenge is posted on Saturday. I started this card yesterday but just now got the details together before I go and watch a stupid movie and eat ice cream. My attempt was to make the summery since there's daisies in the background, but the family says it's more fall. Here is my card and I hope that you enjoy it. Thank you for stopping by and looking.
