Summer Mushrooms

Disclaimer: I have the worst sinus migraine so any coloring out of the lines or any other card faux pas is a casualty. How long does Sudafed take to work is today's question. So far, at least 2 hours and no relief in sight yet. Prayer is definitely appreciated. There's only two things that will bring me down, a toothache and a migraine.

Today's card is for CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge 13, where you are to be inspired by summer. This card is summer to me because I live in a woodsy area and there's mushrooms all over the place, including my little garden by my pool where I hope to sleep today and shake this migraine off. There's not a cloud in the sky! I have allergies something wicked ever since I moved to Kentucky and can sneeze 22x in a row, which is my personal record. I finally got some antibiotics yesterday and took 2 the second I got them rather than one, so I'm a little green from that and add in a sinus migraine, ugh. Enough about me and my woes. This is a happy blog and it's going to stay that way, for the most part. Although on Monday, I encountered this woman who desperately needs prayers and Jesus, so please send some her way that she comes to know the real Christ and humbles herself before Him. God knows who she is and will hear your petitions. She definitely has an extremely rough road ahead of her that she'll be forced to face.

This card is also for Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge 25. I didn't make a circle shaped card, but used a circle for my image.

Let me know what you think and thank you for stopping by to see me. God bless and have a great day! Oh, and don't forget to get your Paper Creations Magazine Fall Edition! I have a few cards in there and for their Winter Edition, I think I either have 9 or 11 cards in there! How exciting and a blessing! This is what is inside the Fall Edition, and the Sunflower Thank U card is one of mine.

The Sky’s the Limit

Good afternoon. I woke up to a very nice surprise this morning! My card for last week's Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge 22 got me a Featured Designer spot for this week's Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge 23! I am blessed and that was really kind of the Design Team to pick my card to be showcased. I am playing this challenge again this week and here's the sketch, designed by Jennifer Meyer,  that was provided (which is very cool) and below the sketch is my card. Why don't you join in the fun this week? I know they'd love to have you! This card also qualifies for Splitcoast Stampers Free 4 All 20 (F4A20) challenge where you had to use something new that you had just taken out of the package, and I just opened these up to make this card. God bless and I pray that you have a wonderful day.

Because

Hi all. I've been receiving a lot of personal e-mails asking how my cousin Bub is. He's out of ICU to a step down unit, but not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination. We still don't know what the effects of the bacteria or strokes has on him. The good news is he wanted a Pepsi and his underwear, so that was a good day. I have to call Colleen and Brenda to get another update. It's been so crazy busy here that I haven't talked to anybody in a few days, but no news is good news.

In the meantime, I decided to make him another card. I don't want to send him "get well" cards, but ones of encouragement and with scripture on the inside. This one is a little girly compared to the baseball card I made for him earlier, but he's just going to have to get over it. I hope that you like it and it gives you some inspiration. I rarely, if ever, use pre-made materials on my cards because to me personally, it's not creative anymore. It doesn't take creativity to arrange pre-made items on a card. The flowers I used are fabric and in the center of each flower is a button. I covered up the button with Say It In Pearls by Prima. The majority of the products used to make this card were purchased at Paper Maniac. Thank you for stopping by today and I hope that you're enjoying your long weekend! God bless. Today's Treasure:  2 Corinthians 10:1-11.

Bee Happy

Good afternoon! I wanted to participate in a couple of challenges before I drew names for the contests mentioned yesterday just to have a little fun. All work and no play is not a good thing and I have not forgotten about you. There was just a tremendous amount of work to do. The sun is playing peek-a-boo, so I'm debating on whether or not to have my afternoon siesta in the pool. That protective covering stuff they put over my transplant fell off last night and it's left me with a terrible headache (probably need Claritin) and my jaw very achy. I don't feel like eating so I can't take Motrin so it doesn't ache anymore. It's a vicious cycle and I'm going to have to do something real soon.

Today's card is for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 42 and Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge 18. I decided to start taking pictures of the inside of my card, as well as the envelope. I've been getting really lazy lately and not doing the inside or an envelope, which does have its advantages when you need a card on the fly, but I made this card specifically for somebody and completed it.

I hope you enjoy this and thank you so much for stopping by. God bless your day.
