Today's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 74 (FTTC74) is Christmas in July. I had just gotten out of the Christmas spirit with all of my magazine work, but now I'm going to have to get back into it. Attending this year's Craft and Hobby Association SuperShow in Chicago in a few weeks will help me get back into the Christmas spirit as I'll be able to see AND bring home the new Christmas releases from various vendors. I'm very excited about attending this show and meeting my friends there!
For this challenge today, I winged, or made up (read trial and error) a technique or two, so I'm not quite sure what I think of this card, but I will tell you that Glimmer Mist covers a multitude of craft sins. I used the Lord Have Mercy Sketch Challenge 81 (MTSC81) to help me out. I usually have zero success with gold thread as it's very difficult to work with, but it's all in the sewing machine quality. Since last year's Janome to a Singer Fashion Mate, stitching on cards has made life so much easier. I will have to read the automatic threading feature one of these days because I'm as blind as a bat and I'm still threading manually.

Don't forget to pray about the 2nd gum transplant that I am undergoing tomorrow morning on the lower right canine. After that heals, then it's back to the left side for a premolar. I wish I could have gotten that procedure done at the same time as the first lower left canine, but there's a crown on that tooth and the dentist said that it's an entirely different procedure because the gum won't adhere to the crown. I think he's trying to bankrupt me. But, you can learn a lesson from this. Don't be an aggressive brusher! I recommend and electric Oral B or Rota-Dent toothbrush. They'll do the job without ripping up your gums. I'm so crazy neurotic about that now that I'll lean over a 15x magnifying mirror to make sure that I get every single part of my tooth without touching my gums, but that's a whole other story and as I try to keep this blog pretty sanitized to all things crafty, I won't go on. I pray you have a very blessed day and keep me in your prayers as well.

For some reason, I've been making Christmas cards. I've been using Flourishes Stamps and playing along with their challenges. This week's Timeless Tuesday Challenge 72 was hosted by Silke Ledlow and she had a sketch challenge for us. I decided to ink up my Sleigh Ride stamp set and instead of coloring with Copic markers, which I usually do with Flourishes, I paper pieced my sleigh. I haven't purchased any new Christmas paper, but I'm sure that I'll come home with a ton of it from the Craft and Hobby Association Expo next month in Chicago that I'm attending. I don't know if I'm more excited to go to the expo or get to play in a big city! I am so looking forward to meeting my crafty friends that I've had online relationships with. That's going to be a blast! Three days of pure crafts, make 'n takes, paper, stamps, paper, stamps, embellishments. Very cool.

I have no idea was possessed me to make a Christmas card, but I did. I've been so busy lately that I only have multiple Christmas publications in two magazines this year so far that I know of. I think another one is picking some up, but let's put it this way, I haven't gone out of my way to make Christmas anything except for some items that one specific magazine asked me to do for them, which turned out to be quite fun because they were altered items rather than just cards. Anyhow, here's a Christmas card that I made for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 71. I think I made it because I was coloring some ornaments from this stamp set a few days ago. Once I saw their challenge this morning for dry embossing, I figured that I'd just use the same ornaments but dry emboss them. This definitely isn't my usual style but I'm okay with how the card turned out. I let the designer paper do a lot of the work for me. What do you think? …a four leaf clover that I overlooked before. One is for sunshine, the second for rain, the third is for roses that bloom in the spring. No need explaining, the one remaining is somebody I adore. I'm looking over a four leaf clover that I overlooked before. There, I had this song go through my head the entire time that it took me to make this card and now you can too!
I'm starting to feel a bit more like myself since these antibiotics are kicking in and am starting to enjoy vacation. It is so nice not being on a constant time schedule or on-call 24/7. I could do this more often. Since it's not too much of a sun day here, I decided to make this card. It's hot enough for a sun day but the sun was playing peek-a-boo and I prefer a sunny sky. Later today it's a trip to Wal-Mart and just some general cleaning up (maybe). I might even make another card and listen to Pastor Bil. Even though I've lived in Kentucky for 3-1/2 years now, I have my Calvary Chapel of the Finger Lakes habits: listen to Pastor Bil while crafting and listen to a Hannah Leckie CD while painting. Hannah is teaching in Hawaii right now but her voice is angelic and I've always loved it. We had two great praise and worship teams. Southern Baptist worship is definitely different but we're still worshiping the Lord.

This is my card for the Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday 58 and a new challenge that I've never played before called Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge. For that challenge today, we had to make flowers. I love, love, love the designer paper I used with the Kiwi Kiss and love these colors together.
